There are few places and experiences which you are never likely to forget. "One Partridge Hill" is one of those places. Its a beautiful homestay nestled in lush green himalayan surrounding with beautiful views of many familiar hills like "Trishul parbat, Chaukhambha, Nanda Devi etc." This place is also a heaven for bird lovers. We can spot and hear the melodious voices of many beautiful birds. The owners (Seemaji & family) have built a beautiful home on the hill with an amazing garden in the front. The architecture and interior is very artistic & wonderful. The love that they have poured in developing this "homestay" can definitely be felt by the visitors. The staff comprising of "Lalitji , Devendraji , Vimlaji " perform their tasks very dedicatedly and they are very very good at their job. They treat the guests with a lot of respect. There are also old temples like Mukteshwar, Kapileshwar nearby. We can also go on village trails and nature-walks. This place should definitely be in the bucket list of all nature lovers worldwide. 10/10

This is a great place to escape the city. One partridge hill is a beautiful house done up super tastefully. The food (by Devender ji) and hospitality (by Lalit ji) are simply fantastic. The house is near lots of trekking trails appropriate even for kids. My husband and I travelled with my mom and 2 kids (ages 9 and 6). Seema was very easy to communicate with for the bookings. Her notes on places to see close by are great. She went out of her way to give my mom tips about her stupendous flower collection. The cold evenings were made warm by the fireplace. They even prepared a celebration for my little one's birthday. Definitely worth the stay!

This bird themed four room property has been made with much love and the designer has excellent aesthetic sense. From the moment one enters this hilltop perched property one realises it is one of a kind! A small uphill drive into the property and at first level is the car park. A fleet of stairs takes one to the lawns and grounds of the twin bungalow. Yellow and red blooming tulips and variety of flowering plants welcome you into the amazing property. Staff led by Lalit ji the caretaker are very warm. The main entrance pretty blue door opens onto the dining and living room area decorated with cute bird artefacts and upholestry. A welcome message for us was inscribed on the board. We stayed in the Whistling Thrush room on the first floor which had one of the most prettiest washroom I have ever seen and I could not stop admiring it. It was as big as the room itself! This room shares a big verandah with the second room on the first floor and we are told one gets an amazing view of snow peak Himalayas which were unfortunately not visible due to cloudy and rainy weather. Just like the theme within the bungalow the grounds this place is a birders delight with magpies, barbets, whistling thrush and yellow tuft Woodpeckers etc visiting the property and a giant flying squirrel resides within is what we are told. The food served with love is tasty, healthy and homely. Seema the owner also called to check whether everything was to our liking and that we were comfortable. She had also shared a pdf with details on the places nearby and activities which we could indulge in if our stay had been longer. Lalit ji, Beena, Devender and satyendra took good care of us. This is an unique property memories of which will be with us for a lifetime. The bird named rooms, wooden bird key chain matching to room names, bird design clothes hangar, bird design butter trays and toothpick holders and the list of beautiful bird artefacts collected by the owner on her various travels enthralls you throughout the stay. Thanks Seema for sharing this heavenly haven with us. I am glad my sister Sapna insisted we stayed here and we had a lovely stay!

The views, the sounds of the chirping birds and the location are just perfect. A charming property run by an excellent team headed by Lalit make for a very comfortable stay. Devendra the cook, Hansa and Bina the househelp are extremely courteous and helpful and go out of their way to cater to all your requests. Three of the four bedrooms have sit-outs and the common living area has a lovely fireplace which is where we spent our evenings staying warm. The down side is that overall the home gets very cold in the winter. Only 2 of the bedrooms have a bukhari (fireplace). And with no heaters in the bathrooms, they were freezing! But the beds all have electric warmers which make them very cosy to sleep in! I would highly recommend it as a summer time visit.

We recently stayed at One Partridge Hill ,Satoli for six nights. It is a six hours drive from Bareilly. The view from the place exceeded my expectations by a wide margin. I have personally been to Kumaon region and have visited, Binsar, Kausani , Ranikhet, Mukteshwar. As it is widely known, the view of Himalayan ranges is breathtaking from Binsar,so also is the view from Mukteshwar inspection bungalow. However, One Partridge hill competes favourably with these places for a couple of reasons. The bungalow is very well decorated and well maintained. You get a fantastic view of Nandadevi , Trishul and other peaks from the comfort of your room. There is a valley and the Almora an the other side it ,and the Himalayan ranges beyond that. The valley , in the morning has a misty , surreal look with white clouds almost resembling a water body in the wee hours of morning. The view of Nandadevi and other peaks remained with us throughout the day. I have spent a lot of time describing the view as it was the focal point of my visit. Anyone interested in seeing Himalayan ranges should visit the place at this time of the year. I don't know if i would like the view that much in months when the grandeur of the Himalayan ranges is not visible. ( Summer / rainy season)Best time to visit the place is winter , where the whether is clear. Now a few words on the bungalow itself. It is nicely decorated and well maintained. It has four rooms. The woodpecker room is on the ground level, and has bukhari. Jungle fowl room and whistling thrush rooms are on the first floor. Jungle fowl room has bukhari. All three rooms are very nicely decorated. The Parakeet room is on the second floor and offers the best views. However, it is smaller room and there is no place for sitting apart from a solitary chair as the bed is disproportionately large and occupies much of the space. The two rooms without bukhari, Whistling thrush, and Parakeet had blowers which almost do nothing to heat the room. However, all the rooms were provided with electric blankets, and the beds were comfortable and a good sleep was not a problem. The decor of all the rooms was good. The shower in the Parakeet room lacked pressure and the mixers in couple of bathrooms could have been better for adjusting the temp of the water. The dining and living area are next to the woodpecker room and are extremely comfortable. There is a fireplace and everyday fire was lit and we enjoyed our evenings there before retiring to our rooms. I can't end the review without writing about the staff. Lalit ,the manager was extremely courteous. The cook was very good and the quality of the food was great. The supporting staff was also very courteous and the rooms were kept clean. There is a small climb from the parking are to the ground level but it doesn't act as a deterrent. Satoli itself is extremely small place and there is nothing much to do except admiring the views. The walks around the property , mentioned on the site/ reviews are not suitable for elderly. However, for us these were not important things. The bungalow itself was extremely comfortable and offered breathtaking views of the Himalayan ranges. ( This should hold good, at least during winter months) The location, and general ambience One Partridge hill provided was remarkable.
